PTIN Food Safety Incident Management Workshop

Date: May 14-15, 2011
Location: Big Sky, Montana

Approximately 100 delegates discussed topics related to food safety incident management. The key challenges raised included capacity constraints, regulatory inconsistency, and the lack of information sharing and communication. The major outcome of the workshop was the establishment of an APEC FSCF Food Safety Incident Network made up of food safety regulators from the APEC economies. This network will improve communication and information-sharing for risk assessment and management among member economies as well as improve food safety incident preparedness/response and strengthen participation in international networks.
