A briefing on APEC food safety activities for the 2011 U.S. hosted year was held on Thursday, January 27 at the Department of Commerce. 160 participants from industry, academic, and government registered but due to the snow, about 100 attended in person and by webinar. The meeting discussed planning for APEC food safety activities for 2011 when the U.S. hosts the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings.

The briefing provided background on APEC food safety activities in the Food Safety Cooperation Forum and the Partnership Training Institute Network (PTIN) as well as plans for upcoming activities for 2011. Perspectives from industry, academia, government, and IGOs were featured. Please see the agenda as well as presentations given at the event as well as presentations from speakers who were not able to attend below.
